Cougar Town Songs Played on Episodes

A lot of my Cougar Town watching friends have asked me to hunt down the songs that played on various episodes of Cougar Town, so I’ve decided to post it here as well for those who are looking for it, too. In particular, I’m sure you guys would like to know the song on the final episode of Cougar Town.

This isn’t fully complete, so if you’d like to ask something, or you’d like to give your input, feel free to post a comment!

Episode 1:
“Lisztomania” by Phoenix – Jules is inspecting herself and looking at all her imperfections in the mirror.
“Bulletproof” by La Roux – Laurie brings Jules to the bar and they talk to the bouncer outside Westside Bar.

Episode 2:
“Feeling I’m Falling” by True Music – Jules gets drinks at Grayson’s Bar/Restaurant.

Episode 3:
“We Didn’t Start the Fire” by Billy Joel – the song Andy hums, because Ellie tapped the drum beat of this song on his behind the night before.

Episode 5:
“Closing Up” by Witness UK – Josh & Jules at the cafe.

Episode 6:
“Stolen” by Dashboard Confessional – Josh and Jules talk on her cellphone post-breakup, Josh is crying under the rain outside Jules’ house.

Episode 8:
“Calling” by Leona Naess (also the singer of the song on the last episode) – Jules and Trent dance on her birthday, by the bar/lounge of the hotel.

Episode 9:
“Give A Little Love” by Noah And The Whale – Thanksgiving song. Nice touching scene where Travis helps Jules with the turkey, after the faux pas Jules committed in front of Travis and his girlfriend, Kylie.

Episode 11 (the episode featuring Lisa Kudrow!):
“Romeo and Julie” by The Rifles – Jules and Jeff play Scrabble on the bed.

Episode 15:
“Feel Good About It” by Marching Band – Grayson hangs lights on his house for Jules on Valentine’s Day.

Episode 17:
“Don’t Wanna Know Why” by Whiskeytown – Jules and Grayson talk as they watch Andy riding around in his motorcycle.

Episode 18:
“Animal” by Miike Snow – Jules pulls over her car to answer the phone and is elated by the fact that she can still change.

Episode 22:
“Keep The Fire” by The Goldhawks – The “Why Not?” Jules/Grayson moment! Grayson rushes up to Jules and kisses her on the street. *gush* (watch starting 0:07)

Episode 24: Final Episode of Season 1!
“Leave Your Boyfriends Behind” by Leona Naess – The cul de sac gang goes to the beach! The girls ride the bike, while the guys ride a car.

Favorite Cougar Town Scenes

Okay, so I am still having a Cougar Town hangover, so I’d like to show you just a couple of YouTube videos that clearly show why I love this TV series:

You have the crazy/slapstick-like humor:

You have the relationship-related satire, and dancing/singing:

The truth about women humor:

The Jules/Grayson romance, which majority waited to happen, with baited breath

And just the great chemistry among all the characters, like they’re really one big cul de sac family:

Jason Castro’s Album goes to #5 on ITunes

I am totally stoked. Jason Castro has to be like one of my top 5 favorite American Idol contestants, and to hear that his album is doing this well makes me really happy. What I always loved about him (which Paula Abdul also mentioned several times in the show) is how he uniquely interprets songs. The way he times his wordings as he sang Hallelujah and Somewhere over the Rainbow is living testament to that.

His voice also has that unique vibe to it – it has a certain twang that I cannot really describe accurately, but basically if you hear his songs on the radio, you know it’s the cute lovable dread head singing.

I have not gotten his album yet (but I most definitely will!), I’ve only bought his EP and it was a totally good buy. The acoustic version of Let’s Fall in Love Again on the EP was good but I am excited to own the full album so that I can have the original version with all the beats to it. I think this song really represents Jason Castro the best and I’m glad he released this before Love Uncompromised. If I were You is another fun tune he dishes out – the lyrics (”If I were you, I’d fall for me”), the singing, everything is so fun, and an absolute delight to the ears.

I also liked his slower songs. Sweet Medicine, for one, has a very good melody:

More power to you Jason!

Ms. Fit Factory Flash: Wanna be Famous? Put some eye bling!

battle of the eye bling

Apparently, it seems that success as an artist may be defined as the amount of bling you have on your eyes. The girl on the left of the image is not Lady Gaga, but a newcomer by the name of Ke$ha, who set the record of highest weekly female downloads in the US. The record toppled down Lady Gaga’s record made exactly one year ago.

Hey everyone, sorry it’s been so long since you’ve heard from us. The Miss Fit Factory band is working really hard and we’ve had some time off lately, which has allowed me to catch up more with friends and family.

U2 is on tour again and they look amazing as always. I watched them on Saturday Night Live last week and they were incredible. It’s crazy they are still going strong after 30 years.

Some of my nieces and nephews are getting older so it’s fun to catch up with them. We watched Ironman last week together and we can’t wait until the second one comes out! It’s always great to be with friends and family when we’re not making music or playing shows.

Thanks for your support! We will see you on the road!

The “MissFitFactory” Music

Our sounds combine our love for different styles, introducing the past to our present rock sound. We have been singing since we were about 5, and began our talents in church and school performances. After singing in several bands, we started our own Classic and Modern Rock/Country Top 40 cover band. We played around in various Irish pubs, bars, restaurants, and local private events, weddings, parties, and festivals. Our music was based on rock classics by Fleetwood Mac, Emmy Lou Harris, Tom Petty, Aretha Franklin, Janis Joplin, Eagles, Patsy Cline, Lucinda Williams, Van Morrison, etc., in combination with more current standout songs from bands such as Bonnie Raitt, Susan Tedeshi, Feist, A Fine Frenzy, Colbie Caillat, Tracy Chapman, Dido, No Doubt, Sheryl Crow and KT Tunstal.

Welcome to Miss Fit Factory

Check it out! This is Missy and welcome to our band’s website. Our band is called MissFit factory. No, it was just coincidence that the name of the band resembles my name – it’s not some ego trip, ask my band members. We called ourselves MissFit Factory because we’re a group of normal maladjusted ladies; hence the irony between “misfit” and “factory” (missfit because we’re all girls, you get the drift).

We haven’t gotten any singles out yet (this is about that time when you guys pull out your proverbial violins and mope with us) but the big rock and roll dream is there and a single is just waiting to happen. We’d like our songs to be a mixture of indie, rock, pop, electronic, and of course punk. We’re influenced by a large slurry of artists, since each of us in the band seem to have different variations of the same taste. You can check out our band profile to know
more about that.

MissFit Factory has mostly done covers – of songs by pop punk princesses such as Avril, Pink, etc. to rock groups like Stone Temple, Garbage (Shirley Manson rocks my world!!!), Nirvana. We’ve played in a few humble venues (from a high school gym to a few small bars here and there); rockstar dreams have to start somewhere, right?

Since we don’t have any singles or demo clips to share with you yet, we’ve decided to put up a blog so we can share our latest music discoveries, rant or rave about movies we’ve watched, and just ramble on about random stuff that can hopefully inspire us to write our own songs someday.
