Indie Band Concerts hit Asia

I’m very happy that the Indie concert scene is really going more and more full-blown. That there are more and more indie bands traveling Asia for a gig is testament to that. From Norwegian folk-pop duo Kings of Convenience to Brooklyn pop, post-punk band, The Drums, the list of bands hitting the Asian continent increases continuously. The areas in Asia that have been blessed with indie concerts are Hong Kong, Indonesia, Singapore, Philippines concerts, South Korea, Taiwan, and Thailand.

Meanwhile, here in the US the indie scene is also thriving and I can hardly keep up with all the new group names popping up almost every week! That’s part of the fun though – discovering a band I truly love amidst the obscure, quirky names is almost like finding gold!

Miss Fit Factory Music: Kings of Convenience on a Lazy Day

Nothing could be better than listening to Kings of Convenience on a lazy day… Or any other day for that matter. This band is Bossa Nova meets Indie meets Jack Johnson. Their music is absolutely, absolutely soothing and just lovely to the ears. You must listen to fully appreciate. I chose “Mrs. Cold”, one of their newer songs to illustrate their genius:

I like how it’s soothing but not dreary or boring. I find myself bopping along while listening to it, but I feel very at peace as well. Vicky happens to like this band too. :P
